Mindy Gallagher and her youngest daughter, Fiona, take “adventure walks” during which Fiona leads her mother to lakes and ponds, friends’ houses, the woods and beyond. The fall leaves were dancing in a gentle breeze one evening when the two stumbled upon a park.

They call themselves “adventurists.” Kate and Tony Becker grab every chance they can to lace up their hiking boots, toss their gear in the Jeep and explore their way across the country. In fact, that sense of adventure permeates pretty much everything they do.

At first glance, one might naturally think that author Melanie Heuiser Hill identifies with 12-year-old Rose in Giant Pumpkin Suite (2017). After all, Rose sprouted up seven inches in eight months, finding her head and shoulders above her twin brother, Thomas.

 

Reach for Resources, a nonprofit organization, offers support and services to individuals dealing with mental illness and disabilities and is assisting those in Maple Grove and other communities.

 

Promoting the importance of women’s involvement in scientific fields and achieving equality in the workplace are items that have long been sought after, but one woman from Maple Grove has succeeded at accomplishing both while continuing to be a role model for not only other women, but all young p

 

For kids, especially ones in college, I can’t help but recommend WhatsApp, a lightweight messaging service that sends texts through the internet rather than phone lines. It’s great if you don’t have a mobile messaging plan or are texting abroad.

 

What do people in MN highly enjoy in September? Fall weather? Sure. Kids back at school? Absolutely! My birthday? Obviously. Most of all, people go bonkers for “Oktoberfest” beers. Why the quotation marks? Well, many breweries are doing different styles around the time of Oktoberfest.

 

What do faucets, red bricks and 1975 have in common? They are part of the display, School Memories, at the Maple Grove Museum.

 

Even if the first things that comes to mind are pumpkins, don’t forget flowers. What pairs well with pumpkins? Garden mums.
